Google’s Native Client SDK Developer Preview Provides Helpful Reminder Of Plans For World Domination

Share on TwitterSubmit to StumbleUponSave on Delicious

Here’s the latest report on google‘s Native Client SDK developer preview provides helpful reminder of plans for world domination :

It’s easy to forget some of google‘s “we will hold you and your children” initiatives: There are simply so many of them. One particular initiative that has been flying under the radar is google Native Client, which enables chrome browser to execute x86 code embedded. This has important implications for moving them beefy, number crunching desktop app hold outs for the browser, not only would be a boon for google‘s ability to make Microsoft and apple better than web apps, but a big gain for chrome OS too. Right now Native Client only works with the developer-oriented Chromium browser with ubiquitous support a distant dream, but google has already developed the ARM processor code portability, plans to be quite processor agnostic in the future and will update the SDK to “promptly” in the coming months. Basically, it’s on. Check out a video demonstration of some “hello world” code after the break, along with a short demo of a 3D shooter.

New iPhone In Vietnam Spotted Running iPhone OS 4?

Share on TwitterSubmit to StumbleUponSave on Delicious

Here’s the latest report on New iphone in Vietnam spotted running iphone OS 4? :

This is somewhat of a confusing, but we just got tipped an extra shot in the fourth generation iphone, which leaked out in Vietnam, but this time with a big twist: It seems to be running iphone OS 4th Or at least show a screen of the new OS, with warning light wallpaper in the background. We have no idea how this crew may have bypassed apple‘s lockdown of the unit and there is always a chance it is a kind of Photoshop or other subtleties. Still, a source confirmed to us that they feel “N90 Pro2″ is an older prototype N90 (apple code name for the new iphone), which refers to “Working Prototype 2″ and may be easier to give than the newer, lock Tight model Gizmodo obtained. Also, despite the photo’s out-of-focus nature of the display (or at least its content) does not seem nearly as sharp as the previous pictures we saw the “fireball” screen. We dig for more info as we speak, but unfortunately the original source site, Taoviet, is down right now. We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about this image roots.

[Thanks, ITKINGDOM]

update: The source link is reading to us sporadically. The translated text of shots reads: “iphone 4G VN is distributed by the network does not it? Maybe not so, we will be the first use:” It’s all so clear now!

update 2: Woah, do these things just grow on trees? French site Be Geek has just received photos of what appears to be the third iphone 4: e gene floating around in the wild. Chances are that the same construction as the Vietnam generation device, because it is missing those screws on the bottom, but it seems to be a separate unit, as it is rocking another SIM.

update 3: Turns out this new set of photos were pulled from the same Vietnamese forum, so it seems the same phone. Makes sense, but we are still puzzling over the different SIM. iphone 4: e gene in the wild … again

Plastic Logic Plans 2012 Launch For Color E-Paper Display

Share on TwitterSubmit to StumbleUponSave on Delicious

Here’s the latest report on Plastic Logic plans 2012 launch for color e-paper display :

E-readers as a whole is best to look back (or planning a wave of new functions, a), but it is safe to say that color displays would give ‘em a leg up on the retina-murder, battery-draining LCD-based alternatives. Plastic Logic is still working to get its first e-reader (the decidedly non color QUE, for the curious) in the feet of consumers, but the outfit is already planning the next big thing. Achim Neu, Director of SCM, who recently spoke on the International Electro Technical Forum, allegedly that his company plans to “have a manufacturable color screen at the end of 2011 and move it into volume production in 2012.” Details beyond that were scarce, but still, 2012 seems a long ways out – if Qualcomm can have its color Mirasol panel in shipping products that are better than average chance that none of this will matter.

Will Sony PSP2 Be Revealed At E3?

Share on TwitterSubmit to StumbleUponSave on Delicious

Sony PSP2

Today, we will talk about Sony PSP2. It’s almost a month before E3; and rumours have already started spreading. While Gears of War 3, Max Payne 3, Gran Turismo 6 and a showcase of Project Natal is on the cards, it is predicted that companies have plenty of cards coming that might come out only on the Big Day. The most suspected and awaited one is the newer version of the famous Sony PSP. Although the first generation PSP enjoyed plenty of limelight, the latest UMD-less iteration, the PSP Go has fared poorly at the retail end, with the company not having revealed the sales data yet.

PSP2, as it’s rumored  by speculators, will be unveiled at the E3 to put the record right. The release is almost ominous considering the announcement of 3DS by its biggest rival Nintendo. 3DS is said to offer the 3D -experience! Although Sony is not going into the 3D aspect PSP2, some of the few rumored  new features include two analog sticks and video streaming via a new build-in camera. PSP2 is also likely to finally have a touch screen. We have our fingers crossed for a capacitive touchscreen for a big matchdown with none other than the mighty iPad. PSP’s superior graphics power is rumored to get even better with a new graphics processor likely to be capable of many fancy new shader techniques not available in the current version of the device.

This should make the PlayStation store more intuitive and definitely test apple‘s claim of capturing the market share in portable gaming. We hope PSP2 turns out to be a big boost for the PSP series and makes it a must-have upgrade for the first-generation PSP owners, something the PSP Go definitely wasn’t.
