Acer may have announced its new Aspire line Ethos few months ago, but this is the first time we’ve had the opportunity to take a look at the multimedia monster in person, although it was necessary that special Ethos brand abroad. We really have to hand it to Acer in the new aesthetic of the 18.4-inch 8943G and 5943G 15.6 inches – the sets have a good layer of polished metal and Chiclet keyboards glorious future. Although, obviously, the first thing we noticed was that black dual-mode touchpad that is the picture above – is a normal touchpad until you press the button to move between the buttons, after which it becomes the system controls multimedia. When we hit that button movie, quickly launched windows Media Player, but fear that the plastic glossy coating on the pad is impeding the daily navigation. Both models on display were powered by 1.6GHz Core i7 CPU-720QM but had 5943G 4GB of DDR3 RAM and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics, while the 8943G boasted 8 GB of RAM and a Radeon HD 5850. They also have 8-cell battery and Blu-ray, so three cheers for that.
