That’s exactly what Thirst for Twitter focuses on, bringing a whole new way of looking at your Twitter timeline. The app infers your interests from your timeline, and presents a graphical feed on its homepage, much akin to a newspaper. There are several of these personalized newspapers on Thirst’s main page, and you can even view a feed related to a topic of your choice by simply searching for that particular keyword. SpaceX‘s Falcon 9 rocket has successfully launched, powering the Dragon capsule up into orbit above the Earth and ready for its meeting with the International Space Station in a few days time. After one aborted launch attempt last week, the SpaceX team had hurried to prepare the Falcon 9 for a second try this morning. That saw no issues whatsoever, with Dragon boosted up into space and successfully deploying its solar arrays.

Over at Best Buy this week you’ll find that the new MacBook Pro 2012 model has been tipped by one of the more obvious events that always happens before a new Apple product: a price reduction int he current model. We’ve seen details leak out about the Zenbook Primes several times, but now ASUS has officially announced that its bringing the new Ultrabooks to the United States. Previous details were pretty much spot on: the new laptops will feature Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors in Core i5 and Core i7 forms, and while the default displays will have the standard 1366×768, a 1080p IPS option will be available on all models.

Though BioWare has not tied the two situations together as thus, the fact that Star Wars : The Old Republic has already lost 400,000 players since launch and that they’ve got a new set of layoffs in their staff on the books is fairly clearly connected. What we’re seeing this week is the CEO of BioWare Ray Muzyka announcing with co-founder Greg Zeschuk that they’d be saying “farewell to some talented, passionate, and exceptionally hard-working people” from the Star Wars staff. Hopefully this does not point toward an end-of-life sequence for the spelet itself.
