View Signal Strength For Any Bluetooth Device Connected To Your Mac [Tip]

As technology has progressed, bluetooth has become more of a better way for connecting devices, rather than transferring data. When it comes to data transfer, even wirelessly, there are much faster modes available. Bluetooth’s core usefulness lies in the number of devices you can connect over it. The apple Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and the keyboard are just some examples of devices you can use this way. Further additions can be speakers or a headset, thus avoiding lots of wires and capitalizing on the available ports. If you use a large number of Bluetooth devices, you may have wondered what is the best placement for them. A device’s performance is affected by signal strength, and you can’t really put everything in the same spot, due to interference. If you’ve ever wondered how you could view the signal strength of a Bluetooth device and use that information to create an optimum setup, OS X has a solution available in Bluetooth Preferences.

Folder Downloader For Android Lets You Download Entire Dropbox Folders At Once

Popular cloud storage service, Dropbox, has been consistently improving on its service, the web interface, as well as the official desktop and mobile clients. However, one feature that is currently missing in the official mobile client of Dropbox, is the option to download entire folders at once. There are a few third-party apps that let you establish a partial or complete two-way sync between your Anroid device’s storage and Dropbox cloud (like Dropsync & Dropspace), but these won’t be all that appealing to users who only find the need to download data in bulk from Dropbox. Folder Downloader for android is a simple but handy solution for such users. This extremely lightweight tool works perfectly in combination with the official android client of Dropbox, allowing you to download an entire Dropbox folder, along with all its subdirectories and underlying files to a directory on your android device’s local storage. The app supports running in the background, and keeps you informed of download progress within the notification area. Details to follow.

Download & Install Custom Boot Animations To Your Rooted Android Device With AniBootDownload & Install Custom Boot Animations To Your Rooted Android Device With AniBoot

Previously reviewed BootFlash by XDA member, SoCal Devs, allowed android users to set a custom image of choice as their device’s splash screen – the static screen that shows up immediately after the device (re)boots. What follows the splash screen is the boot animation that normally sports the OEM logo (in case of the stock firmware) or the animated logo/mascot of the custom ROM developer. What if you were to get rid of your device’s monotonous boot animation, and personalize it according to an animation of your own liking? Well, there are a couple of workarounds in this regard: you may either follow all the extensively discussed steps in our detailed guide regarding changing and creating custom android boot animations, or you can simply install SoCal Devs’ new app, AniBoot, which features dozens of downloadable boot animations which can be applied to any rooted android device in no more than a couple of taps. The app supports boot animation in three different screen resolutions – 800×480, 1024×768 & 1280×72 – each comprising at least a dozen various boot animations. Each boot animation can be previewed individually, and if it catches your eye, you can download and apply it to your device in a matter of just a few seconds. Details to follow.

Until and unless you pull the USB flash drive out during data transfer, there is really no harm in disconnecting it out without using the aforementioned remove dialog box. The modern windows operating system even allows you to enable quick removal of USB devices. In this article, we will show you how to enable it.

Accelerometer Mouse: Control PC Mouse Movements Using An Android Device’s Motion Sensor

There’s no shortage of android apps in the google Play Store that let you use your device as a mouse, keyboard or trackpad for your computer. However, most of the available solutions require you to drag your finger over the device’s screen to control the mouse cursor. New to the market, Accelerometer Mouse (currently in beta) is yet another android app that lets you take control of your computer’s mouse movements over WiFi, but to achieve said purpose, it uses your android device’s accelerometer. That is, mouse movements are controlled by tilting your android device to various angles. The app works in combination with a Java-based desktop server that reads the mobile device’s movements transmitted over a common WiFi network, and translates them into real-time mouse movements on your computer’s screen. The mobile client’s is extremely easy to use, with a UI that incorporates the looks of a regular PC mouse, complete with left, right and scroll buttons. Details to follow.
